Portal:Abilities

Abilities are special powers that Pirates, Creatures, Companions, and Ships are able to use.

Powers are abilities that are actively chosen by the player in Battleboard Combat in order to damage, heal, or otherwise affect allies, enemies, or other parts of the Battleboard.

Talents are passive abilities that a Pirate, Creature, or Companion always has. They typically provide a stat boost as well as the ability to use certain equipment.

Epic Talents are more powerful than regular Talents and include the ability to attack again after defeating an enemy (i.e. Double Tap), attack more than once (i.e. Burst Fire), or attack an enemy who missed you (i.e Riposte).

Ship Powers are the abilities a player will select in Broadside Combat from Ship-to-Ship. These abilities are equipped to the Ship by specific types of Ship Equipment.

Pet Talents and Pet Powers are the abilities gained by Pets as they are trained and gain levels. Pet Talents are gained at odd levels - 10, 30, 50, and 70. Pet Powers are gained at even level 20, 40, and 60.
